I see it's been a while since I posted my last blog; a year flies by, especially when you're having fun!
So let me just catch you up on what's been keeping me busy.
Aside from the fact that I am still extremely busy, I remain very passionate about my work and always try to find the right balance between the number of hours I paint and the time for other things. I am getting better and better at speaking up when I am too busy, and that is noticeable. Creating something new time and again still gives me satisfaction after all these years of painting, and that has always been my goal.
Those who have been following me for a while know that I work in various styles. I notice that I am increasingly drawn to the abstract side, and as a result have less time left for the other style, in which I work a lot with patterns and in a more ornate and detailed manner.
So, over the past year there has been less and less supply in this style, and that is very unfortunate for many followers. I am trying to restore this balance, but it is also a form of personal growth not to create the same type of paintings for years on end, so that you feel like you are standing still.
I've noticed that that turning point goes hand in hand with all sorts of more mature choices, because suddenly I found my business cards inappropriate anymore since they feature a photo from five years ago; so I wanted a different corporate identity, the website needed to be more professional, and everything has to align with who I am now.
More motivated than ever, I designed my first official logo and enlisted a professional website designer to get to work. Together, we are going to create an easy-to-navigate website so that it becomes even easier for you to order your favorite artwork in the webshop or to reserve and pick up your favorite large painting.
In short, as always, I am ready to welcome you for viewings, pack and ship your orders, and continue providing you with unique creations.
Just a little more patience.....the new website is going live in a few weeks, and I, I can't wait!
